The Compassion Experience

The Compassion Experience is coming to the Everett area September 18-20, hosted by Canyon Creek Church. This free event will bring visitors on an interactive journey through the lives of children living in the Philippines and the Dominican Republic.
CompassionExperience-Anaheim-2Through 1,700 square feet of interactive exhibit space, visitors will step inside daily life in a developing country — visiting homes, markets and schools — without getting on a plane. Through the use of an iPod and headset, each tour is guided by a child whose story starts in poverty but ends in hope.
The event is an excellent opportunity to experience another culture and better understand the realities of global poverty. Don’t miss this life-changing event brought to you by Compassion International and Canyon Creek Church.
The Compassion Experience is free and appropriate for all ages.

Stonegableblog -DIY Laundry Soap

I was intrigued when I first heard of making your own laundry detergent.   My niece was a fan of it and helped me gather my first batch.  I was very pleased.  This is a good step  if you have someone in the house with a detergent sensitivity.

After you finish mixing the ingredients you will find an pleasant aroma.  It is nice but after going through the washer and dryer you no longer smell it as much as you have a light scent of freshness without a perfume overtone.

Click here to go to the site to get the full recipe.  My husband helped me put it together and he said rather than use trash bags to mix it together you can use a 3-5 gallon plastic paint bucket available at  Lowe's or Home Depot for about $3.00. They come with lids.  You might have a plastic laundry bucket you can recycle to use for storage but the link will have more suggestions.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Our Vision:

In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly's vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month. By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, she wanted children to be excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, she could insure that every child would have books, regardless of their family’s income.

Follow the link and visit how to register your child to benefit from this program.

Thanks, Dolly!
